Monetizing Your Relationships: Tim Sales Responds to Ellie Flynn’s Hit Piece

“These days, when I scroll through social media, I can spot an MLM post a mile off. What I once would have seen as a normal selfie is in fact an advert for a new product… alarm bells go off.”
That’s a line from a hit piece that journalist Ellie Flynn did, and I feel it’s time for me to respond.
It’s one thing to complain that there’s promotions all around us, but it’s another thing entirely to attack one specific industry like Network Marketing.
Notice her pattern. She creates this conflict — this antagonism — suggesting there are ties to the Mormon church, to Utah, and even cults… and then tries to justify it with half-truths and hearsay.
And it’s all very one-sided, which suggests to me unprofessionalism as a journalist. Doesn’t matter who she writes for, without representing both sides, she’s just a biased person.
Remember the CNN whistle-blower who famously got the guy on camera saying their intent was: “Create clicks, get more money”?
It seems to me her intent is to create clicks, so her articles sell and she doesn’t get fired.
So you be the judge… what’s the intent behind what Ellie writes?
